The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) program, which is globally considered one of the most prestigious accreditations of its kind, has evolved in line with increasing global awareness of the importance of health and safety at work and adopts a risk management approach based on best practices and international standards, mainly International Labor Organization (ILO) codes of practice, with special reference to the model proposed in the ILO’s guide “Guidelines in Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems” (ILO-OHS 2001).
